The Cimarron Council and Cherokee Area Council will conduct a joint Camporee in September to celebrate the 110th anniversary of the first Boy Scout Troop in the United States. Plans are underway for a BIG celebration.
Friday (9/27) – Troops will arrive at Camp McClintock. There will be a cracker barrel in the evening.
Saturday morning (9/28) – There will be a Scouting parade in Pawhuska. Everyone is invited. We would like Scouts BSA Troops, Cub Scout Packs, and Venturing Crews to participate.
Parents and friends will receive a special discount card to be used at dozens of stores in Pawhuska.
After the parade, there will be a “Gathering of Eagles” at the Pawhuska Chamber of Commerce. Eagle Scouts over the age of 18 will receive a FREE Eagle Scout T-shirt, courtesy of the local banks. All Eagle Scouts attending will receive a “Gathering of Eagles” patch. In order to receive a t-shirt, we must have your name and shirt size by September 6th.
Saturday afternoon (9/28) – Camporee activities begin.
Saturday evening (9/28) – Closing campfire and Order of the Arrow callout. All Scouts who have been elected, regardless of council affiliation, can be called out at this campfire.
Sunday (9/29) – After chapel service, there will be a special movie showing at the theater in Pawhuska. It will likely be “Follow Me, Boys”. There is no cost for Scouts and leaders to attend the movie.
